My idea for this blog comes from The Tuscan Cooking King, Pellegrino Artusi.
All those who decide to make a blog, especially about cooking, were inspired by the movie “Julie and Julia”. To tell the truth, me too…and that movie has really kidnapped me. And so I thought to the wishes of the people I meet and their passion for Italian cuisine. Many told me that they bought some cookbooks too difficult, in which you take for granted the terms of the steps that are not obvious to those who are not Italians. Others talk me about the unreliability of quantities of ingredients. Well, I think they’re right.
As I told you my idea for this blog comes from a book that is the Tuscan cuisine “Bible”, it is: La Scienza in Cucina e l’Arte di mangiar bene, (Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Well Eating) by Pellegrino Artusi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pellegrino_Artusi).
It ‘s an “ancient” book, written at the end of 1800. It’s in Tuscan “dialect” and it is impossible for a foreigner to be able to read it … it’s hard to understand even for many Italians.
And so, after having thought and thought … my idea for this blog was very clear!
